THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT

the forbidden fruit....
sweet, justifiable, desirable fruit...
it is called forbidden because it is not mine for the taking...and i know...but i want it...even if it is just a bite...
I look longingly at it and desire it for my taking...so much so that all the consequences that come with it vanish insignificantly....(covetousness?)
for all the fruits I have always plucked and eaten, the story ends as always the same way.
I always knew how the story would end... and that is why it is ever so easy to pursue...
It is forbidden...meaning that it is not yours to have...meaning that at some point you have to let it go...
and without hitch you do...because it is replaceable. no hard feelings.
some things you can afford to lose, others you can't. just make sure that you do not partake of a forbidden fruit that has a hook in it....the unusual forbidden fruit.

the forbidden, they say is usually very sweet and yes it is.
there is a thrill, an excitement in knowing that the fruit you desire is not in your compound.
the fruit you long to taste is not yours to have...so you need to creep and manipulate things just to have it...
yet you know that if you are caught, the game will take a new turn, most likely a nasty one
but if uncaught, like every thief, you get to enjoy the taste of the fruit till it is time to go pluck another one.
and the game goes on...
the thrill is in being able to get it without being caught? but there is more...
it was never meant to last a lifetime... never. and before the you climb on that fence to steal the fruit, you know that definitely, if you do not get caught on this particular fruit, that beast in you will love to try it out again...on some other seemingly untended fruit.
now, my question is this: if i am the fruit, and i know these things, what are the factors that will make me oblige? lack of self esteem? no self worth? no yardstick for morals? or just as we say, "love" .....

the forbidden fruit is an object of desire taken just to satisfy something in me.
that same thing, we will see if we look keenly at Eve and from history we learn that this action had its own consequence...not because she was caught. no. but because she tasted one very unusual forbidden fruit.
even though i know i shouldn't have it, the desire takes over me and i can't help reaching for it.
now that sounds like kleptomania but it just means there is a higher force within that is making me do those things that i do not want to do.
it means that that force within controls and keeps me in slavery to continue in the wrong.
once i see this,my life is ready to take on a new turn into the path of freedom.
